Rainbow Gatherings are a temporary village in nature lasting for a cycle of the moon that draw hundreds or thousands of attendees. They have no official hierarchy and no rules, relying instead on a shared ethos and tradition of mutual respect. They are funded by donations after each meal (cooked on fires in a kitchen constructed on the site) and represent a remarkable experiment in communal living, hippie lifestyle and anarchic spirituality.

Somewhere Under the Rainbow is a subjective account of what a Rainbow Gathering is like,; Tom Thumb explores its traditions, beliefs and social conventions all through the lens of his own experience and the colourful stories of others.

It’s a vivid portrait of the modern face of counter-culture.
